2 from Old Bridge killed in crash

I DONT CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS. MY BEST FRIENDS WERE KILLED AND IT WAS NOT JOHNS FAULT. This really needs to be investigated further. It's common sense a car wouldnt flip if this 17 year old kid was going the speed limit. Correct me if im wrong..but the curfew for driving when you're 17 is midnight, right? This happend at 11:50. COINCIDENCE? I DONT THINK SO. They were 2 of the best people I have ever known. Only the good die young...and in a car accident in which they are INNOCENT.

On the road and looking for love - a love of books

In November, the National Endowment for the Arts released its study "To Read or Not to Read," which includes statistics like: "On average, Americans ages 15 to 24 spend almost two hours a day watching TV, and only seven minutes of their daily leisure time on reading." An article in the Dec. 24 and 31 New Yorker, titled "Twilight of the Books" by Caleb Crain, quotes sociologists who predict that reading will become "an increasingly arcane hobby."

Would my efforts to photograph readers, rather than be affirming, document the last days of a dying way of life?

Before reading was on the endangered list, the Hungarian photographer and pioneer of photojournalism Andr Kertsz was inspired to document the cherished act. Sixty-eight of these photographs appear in "On Reading," which will be rereleased later this year.

...from the masses below. The amount of anti-gay sentiment on this site is par for the course when it comes to a right wing, radical agenda. When the anti-gay radical crowd is exposed, they pucker up and tout how tolerant they are towards gays or how they have gay friends or how they work with them with no problems. I don't have a problem with a good joke aimed at me as long as you can take one aimed at you.

I'm not a conserva-phobe more like a BORG-a-phobe. I fear the Brotherhood Of Rightwing Garbage or becoming assimilated as one of its members. Don't touch me...deflecting blows...

The Oscar Nominees Will Be...

Time will tell which movie the Academy picks as the best of 2007, but the nation's critics have already chosen. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, the Coen brothers' allegorical Texan crime caper, has swept up 18 critics' prizes (no other film has won more than five) and is sure to be the Coens' first Best Picture nominee since 1996's Fargo. Another safe bet is the British drama ATONEMENT, which met a sprinkling of harsh criticism but still has the scope and pedigree to go the distance.

After that, this race gets tougher to predict. The '70s-throwback thriller MICHAEL CLAYTON didn't break any box office records, but its labyrinthine script and knockout performances have kept it at the front of the race even as its theater presence has waned. Meanwhile, the movie with all the momentum is THERE WILL BE BLOOD, which started off the new year by nearly sweeping the National Society of Film Critics Awards and packing movie houses in limited release.
